The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will meet tonight May 10th, 2012 at 7:00 pm in The Roane County Rescue Squad building, 2735 Roane State Highway, Harriman, TN. in the Midtown area just up from Lowes. I hope you all can make it and be sure to bring a friend.

The CASA Run For The Child is this coming Saturday May 12, 2012. Roane County ARES/DEC will be assisting with communciations for the event. For more information on Roane County ARES/DEC contact Bill Farnham KI4FZT bfarnham@utk.edu.

Finally, Dont’ forget that Field Day is June 23 and 24th 2012 and The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will participate in Field Day at Fort Southwest Point in Kingston behind the baseball field at the pavilion. Please make plans to attend.

What: RCARC Christmas Dinner / Meeting / Election of
officers for 2012
When: Thursday December 8th 2011
Pot Luck Dinner at 6:00 pm. RCARC will provide ham
and condiments. Everyone else bring a dish based on the last
letter of your callsign. For A through I, bring a salad; J
through R, a side dish; and S through Z, dessert. (Please rsvp
if your coming and bring a dish so we will have a head count!)
Meeting and election at 7:00 pm
Where: The Roane County Rescue Squad 2735 Roane State
Highway, Harriman, TN. It is in the Midtown area just across
from the drive in theater. We meet in the conference room
directly behind the United Way office.

ALL RCARC MEMBERS It Is Important that You Attend This Meeting!
This election determines our officers and the direction
our club takes for the next year. If you want to run for an
office feel free to send me or any club officer your request to
be placed on ballot. See the RCARC by laws on
www.ke4rx.org for qualifications to run for office.

Finally at Decembers meeting we begin taking renewals for
membership for the RCARC, so if your a Roane County
Amateur Radio Club member, don’t forget to renew in
December/January for the 2012 year. New members are
welcome to join anytime. Annual dues are still only $15 .

Hello Everyone

This coming Thursday November 10, 2011 at 7 PM. is the monthly meeting of The Roane County Amateur Radio Club at The Roane County Rescue Squad building in Midtown, TN. Try to come on down and meet with us. We don’t bite, we promise!! On the agenda is seeing who wants to run for club office for our next year and planning for the Christmas meeting and Dinner to be held on December 8th at The Rescue Squad Building probably about 6:00 pm, but we will see after this Thursday. If you want to run for a club office see the club bylaws on www.ke4rx.org for officer criteria.

I just want to remind folks that The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday August 11th at 7:00 pm in the Roane County Rescue Squad building in Midtown. Come on down and meet folks who share a common interest in Amateur Radio.

Also the KE4RX repeater is back on the air alive and well on 147.015+ (pl 110.9). Thanks to Cliff Segar KD4GT, David Rogers KC4WGH, Jim Dalton K4FPG for all their hard work on the repeater and antennas and to Danny Britton KB4TEP for climbing the tower and installing the antennas for us! Great Job Y’all!

Sorry I’m running behind a bit with the newsletter.

I just want to remind folks that The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday June 9th at 7:00 pm in the Roane County Rescue Squad building in Midtown. Come on down and meet folks who share a common interest in Amateur Radio.

RCARC will participate in Field Day on June 25 and 26 at The Fort Southwest Point park pavilliion in Kingston, TN. behind the baseball field. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come on by and support RCARC and check out our operation. Send me an e-mail if you need directions.

Finally Jim Dalton K4FPG told me that the Roane County VE exam that normally would be held on June 11th was going to be the following Saturday 6/18/11. If you want to schedule a Ham Exam, just send Keith Dalton an e-mail. Follow the link to the right for VE Testing.

I hope to see everyone Thursday night at the meeting.

Don’t forget The Roane County Amateur Radio Club Monday Night Net will be on 147.120 (pl 82.5) tonight @ 8:00 pm. This is the backup frequency while KE4RX/r is down for repair. KE4RX/r should be back on the air soon.
