Hello! Welcome to our website. We are the Roane County Amateur Radio Club, located in beautiful Roane County, Tennessee, which is about 30 miles west of Knoxville, Tennessee.


Our radio call sign is KE4RX, and our 2 meter repeater is located atop Mt. Roosevelt overlooking Rockwood, TN. The repeater operates on 147.015 MHz with a + offset and a PL tone of 110.9.

The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will meet this Thursday July 14th at 7:00 pm in The Roane County Rescue Squad building in Midtown behind The United Way office. Come on Down and meet with our group. We are very informal and everyone is welcome!

RCARC Beacon Newsletter June 2011

Sorry I’m running behind a bit with the newsletter.

I just want to remind folks that The Roane County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday June 9th at 7:00 pm in the Roane County Rescue Squad building in Midtown. Come on down and meet folks who share a common interest in Amateur Radio.

RCARC will participate in Field Day on June 25 and 26 at The Fort Southwest Point park pavilliion in Kingston, TN. behind the baseball field. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come on by and support RCARC and check out our operation. Send me an e-mail if you need directions.

Finally Jim Dalton K4FPG told me that the Roane County VE exam that normally would be held on June 11th was going to be the following Saturday 6/18/11. If you want to schedule a Ham Exam, just send Keith Dalton an e-mail. Follow the link to the right for VE Testing.

I hope to see everyone Thursday night at the meeting.

Don’t forget The Roane County Amateur Radio Club Monday Night Net will be on 147.120 (pl 82.5) tonight @ 8:00 pm. This is the backup frequency while KE4RX/r is down for repair. KE4RX/r should be back on the air soon.

Don’t forget The Roane County Amateur Radio Club Monday Night Net will be on 147.120 (pl 82.5) Monday @ 8:00 pm. This is the backup frequency while KE4RX/r is down for repair. KE4RX/r should be back on the air soon on 147.015+ (pl 110.9).

Finally the Roane County VE team will offer amateur radio exams this Saturday April 9th at 9:00 am. Pre-registration is required. Contact Jim Dalton K4FPG or Keith Dalton WV4G to schedule your exam or information on taking an exam. March RCARC Meeting and SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training

This coming Thursday March 10th @ 7:00 pm is the Roane County Amateur Radio Club monthly meeting. SKYWARN training by the National Weather Service in Morristown is on the agenda. Training begins promptly at 7:00 and the RCARC business meeting will follow. Training lasts about 2 hours. I hope everyone can attend!!
